The sacred crossing: The soul Journey Through Grief to Renewal
May 22 @ 17:30 - 20:00

“The work of the mature person is to carry grief in one hand and gratitude in the other and to be stretched large by them.” — Francis Weller
What happens when grief remains unfelt?
It shapes us silently—dampening our joy, straining our relationships, and keeping us from the fullness of life we long for. In a culture that offers endless distractions from discomfort, many of us carry the weight of unprocessed losses, disappointments, and heartaches.
But what if our grief isn’t a burden to endure but a doorway to walk through?
WHO THIS IS FOR
The circles are designed for you if:
- You sense that unprocessed grief is affecting your capacity for joy and connection
- You’re navigating significant loss, transition, or disappointment
- You’re drawn to meaningful ritual and community-held experiences
- You’ve tried to “think your way through” grief and found it insufficient
- You’re ready to approach grief not as a problem to solve, but as a relationship to tend
- You long for greater authenticity and aliveness in your life
WHAT YOU MAY BE EXPERIENCING
- Persistent anxiety or numbness
- A sense of disconnection from yourself and others
- Chronic fatigue or feeling “stuck”
- Diminished capacity for joy
- The nagging feeling that something essential is missing
WHAT THIS CIRCLE OFFERS
“Grief and loss are not meant to be carried alone. They require a container larger than the individual psyche.”
Root & Rise is a sacred space to honour grief as a natural, necessary expression of love—a teacher that can lead us back to our most authentic, alive selves.
Based on Francis Weller’s profound work on the “Five Gates of Grief,” each circle creates a reverent space to explore one gateway of sorrow through ritual, community, and embodied practice.
In each 2.5-hour online gathering, you’ll experience:
- Grounding practices to create safety in your body
- Meaningful rituals designed for expression and movement
- Guided meditations to access deeper wisdom
- Small-group sharing with clear boundaries (with no pressure to share)
- Poetry and teachings to frame our experience
- Practical tools to continue the integration between circles

ABOUT YOUR GUIDE: Amel Murphy
A psychosomatic therapist and intergenerational trauma restoration practitioner with over two decades of experience in individual and group processes. Throughout her practice and personal journey, she has seen first-hand the impact of unmetabolized grief and loss on someone’s life experience. As a systemic constellation practitioner, Amel brings deep insight into how our grief connects to larger family systems and ancestral patterns.
ABOUT YOUR GUIDE: Kate Griffiths
With over 30 years of personal healing journey and professional practice, I bring both lived experience and formal expertise to my work as a grief facilitator. Having navigated my own path through emotional and sexual trauma in early life, I embrace Dr. Gabor Maté’s compassionate perspective that trauma is essentially an unmet need. As a fully qualified coach, Reiki Master, and internationally recognised Colour Teacher of Teachers, I create safe, transformative spaces where participants can identify and process their multilayered grief.
My expertise in colour medicine offers a unique pathway to understand and release complex emotions that often have no words. This visual and energetic language provides access to deeper healing that cognitive approaches alone cannot reach. I believe that our wounds, when properly tended, become the very source of our gifts to the world—and that the colors of our grief, when fully seen and honoured, become the palette from which we paint a more vibrant and authentic life.
